BERT: A New Way for Google Search
December 10, 2019 09:06:38 AM
Google is now rolling out the BERT algorithm to over 70 languages worldwide. Google BERT is initially launched in October for US English. BERT stands for Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers, and it’s a Google algorithm. BERT is related to natural language processing (NLP) and it’s responsible to analyze search queries, not web pages.
Google is applying the BERT algorithm as a new way for search and to make it better for users worldwide. With the BERT algorithm, Google can take learnings from one language and apply them to others. This helps Google to return relevant results to searchers.
