Google Search Central

On November 11, 2020, Google announced that Google Webmasters name will be changed to be Google Search Central. According to a user experience study ran by Google, very few web professionals identify themselves as webmasters. Web professionals prefer to identify themselves Search Engine Optimizer (SEO), online marketer, web developer, or site owner.

The new name “Google Search Central” applies to the Webmaster Central blog and social media accounts. There is also a chatter that this change will be applied to YouTube as well. This means, the Webmaster Central hangouts will be changed to be Search Central hangouts.

Google stated that the content published under the new name “Search Central” will still serve SEOs and site owners improve their website’s visibility in Google Search results.

Here is a Google’ blog post about this change.
